Basque policy issues have been featured lately at the University of Liverpool thanks to activities organized by the Manuel Irujo Fellowship Chair. Tomorrow, Basque and international experts will discuss the Basque conflict at a conference entitled, “An End to the Basque Conflict?” Historian, Xabier Irujo (University of Nevada, Reno) will lead the discussion in which Juan Jose Ibarretxe (Agirre Lehendakaria Center) will participate, among others.
Liverpool, England. The University of Liverpool will be the site on a debate on the Basque conflict organized by the Manuel Irujo Fellowship supported by the Etxepare Basque Institute at this University. The conference entitled, An End to the Basque Conflict? was organized by Xabier Irujo (University of Nevada, Reno) first invited professor of this chair.
The seminar will analyze the origin of the Basque conflict and will discuss the reasons that complicate its resolution. International experts will participate, such as Xabier Irujo (UNR), Iñigo Urrutia (University of the Basque Country), Kevin Bean (University of Liverpool), Richard Gillespie (University of Liverpool), Amaia Agirre (Agirre Center for Social and Political Studies) and former Lehendakari Juan Jose Ibarretxe (Agirre Lehendakaria Center for Social and Political Studies). Mari Jose Olaziregi, Director for the Promotion and Dissemination of Euskera at the Etxepare Basque Institute will also attend.
