Santiago, Chile. The Basque Community of Chile Basque Club in the city of Mapocho will debut its first website this Wednesday, as proudly reported by its president, Rossana Arza. They will do so in a special context since they will celebrate Basque Week 2020 this week, June 24-26, in conjunction with the club’s 13th anniversary.
“The focus of Basque Week this year will be the 500th anniversary of Juan Sebastian Elcano’s expedition, Arza told EuskalKultura.eus. “This will be reflected in Friday’s program that we will develop along with the Elcano Foundation who provided us with the documentary, and the talk given in Getaria by Chilean Anthropologist, Nelson Aguilera entitled, “After the First Encounter.” Read an article here with complete program of the three days of Basque Week.
Rossana Arza is very satisfied with tomorrow’s launch of the club’s website: www.colectividadvascadechile.cl. “We will provide information on our regular activities and others that we made little by little over these 13 years. We´ll celebrate austerely but we´ll celebrate our first Virtual Basque Week in this 2020,” she concluded.
