Buenos Aires, Argentina. Looking towards the Basque Country but without turning their back on the community that welcomed them, Basque clubs in Argentina merge two peoples. The reflection of the sum is reflected, among other examples, in the presence of the communities at the events and ceremonies that took place on May 25th to celebrate another anniversary of the Revolución de Mayo. As a sample, here are pictures from events in Arrecifes, Buenos Aires, Chacabuco, Córdoba, Mar del Plata, Necochea and Saladillo.
[Members of the Euskaldunak Denak Bat in Arrecifes participated as every year in the official commemorative events of the Revolución of 1810, in the morning, along with local officials; and later at the Tedeum at an offering at the Parish of San Jose; and finally in the parade. They also had a food stand in the Merlo Predio in front of the Mitre Plaza where they provided lentil stew and choripanes (photoEE)]
[At the country's capital, for its part the 3rd edition of the “Communities Celebrate the Homeland” took place on the Avenida Caseros. The Laurak Bat Basque club from Buenos Aires was in charge of representing the Basques here and did so with music and food as well as with Buruhandiak and Erraldoiak (photo Colectividades Bs As)]
[Also in Buenos Aires but in the Lizarraenea Basque building, the homeland celebration took place with good food and dancing. Directed by Aitor Alava those attending had the chance to dance typical Basque Country choreographies (photoEE)]
[Invited by the Provincial Government of Cordoba, and in front of a large crowd, the Gure Txokoa Cordoba City Basque club carried the Ikurriña in the parade of May 25th in the capital. Representatives received warm applause when passing in front of the official box (photoEE)]
[Just short of a month after celebrating its 25th Anniversary the Gullermo Larregui Center in Chacabuco was also present in the local parade with Ikurriñas and traditional costumes (photoEE)]
[The Denak Bat Basque club in Mar del Plata celebrated the night before the Day of the Homeland with pintxos prepared by the Beti Alai group for the occasion (photoEE)]
[And moving south, in Necochea, the events also took place on May 24th at night. At the Euzko Etxea there was singing accompanied by a guitar (photoEE)]
[The Basque community in Saladillo also was among the institutions and local officials in the May parade. Marile Negri was chosen as the Queen of the Carnaval 2014 representing the club, and joining a delegation from the Itxaropen Saladillo Basque club (photoEE)]
