Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. A busy weekend awaits members of the Basque Club of Utah, in Salt Lake City, and members of its dance group the Utah-ko Triskalariak. As announced in our agenda, on Saturday, they will participate in the Taste of Living Traditions Festival, something they do every year with a food stand as well as a dance performance. On Sunday, they will celebrate their annual picnic having lunch together in a park, enjoying good Basque-American food, and playing games and competitions for all ages.
Saturday’s event will take place in the Washington Square in Salt Lake for the Living Traditions Festival. Along with other associations and entities from other cultures and nations present in Utah, Basque club members will open their food stand. Their participation will be complete with a dance performance by the Utah’ko Triskalariak on the South Stage from 6:45-7:15pm.
On Sunday, the club will host its annual picnic at the Union Park Pavilion. The day will begin at noon with mass, followed by a BBQ lunch with steak and chorizo, along with beans, salad, bread and cheese. The Utah’ko Triskalariak will perform, and there will be a horseshoe competition as well, along with Basque souvenirs for sale, and kids’ games.
