New York, NY. The Basque club in New York will celebrate a series of activities and special offerings in favor of diversity and sexual freedom. The program called, “Diversity Weekend,” will take place Friday through Sunday.
Among the numerous activities planned the screening of In 80 Days, is worth mentioning. The film tells the story of friendship and love between two adult women directed by Jon Garaño and Jose Mari Goenaga. The film, done in Basque, has received several international wards. Also the latest work by these two was recently nominated for the Oscars, Loreak.
Another highlight of the weekend will be the presentation of the book Miradas Atrevidas (Bold Looks) that gathers the testimony of 13 people who were victims of sexual repression against gays and lesbians during the Franco regime and the transition. The book will be presented by Ramon Aizarna.
