Viedma, Argentina. September 8th is the Day of the Basque Diaspora, celebrated successfully for the first time last year at many Basque clubs around the world. With just less than two months left for this year’s celebration, clubs here and there have begun warming up to repeat, and even surpass their activities in 2018. In the case of the Aberri Etxea Basque Club in Viedma and Carmen de Patagones, encouraged by last year’s success, has again launched a call for its literary contest “Kontadazu Historia – Tell me the Story II.”
As club sources told EuskalKultura.eus the contest “Kontadazu Historia – Tell me the Story II” aims mainly at “knowing and delving into the individual stories of Basque immigrants, their reasons for immigrating from the Basque Country, circumstances and feelings.”
Participation is open and contest rules are available here. Deadline to submit works is August 30th and the awards ceremony will take place on September 8th at an event at the Basque club in honor of Day of the Diaspora, that will include an exhibit of the works received.
