General Belgrano, Argentina. Since it began its activity in 2017, the Gure Etxea Basque Club in Gral. Belgrano has achieved carrying out solid projects every year that it has proposed, and so to close this very good year, members of the board of directors and their families, gathered to say farewell to 2019, invited by vice-president, Hector Carricaburu. Besides sharing the day outside, directors from the club began planning its central activities for the coming year.
According to club secretary Sonia Etchelet, the main goal for 2020 is to teach their txikis dance. “This year we took the first steps in putting together a small dance group that we named, “Gure Dantza.” But we want to add more dantzaris and so we are counting on the help of a new teacher, Barbara Perez Arrua to help us do so,” she explained.
“Besides, in the near future, we will also have a Basque teacher, Natalia Urcola who will begin training in the Euskara Munduan Program in January,” she added.
The projects at Gure Etxea also include improvements on their clubhouse. Some of their challenges for the coming year include remodeling the front of the club, “that looks like a Basque house,” they reported.
