Saladillo, Argentina. Last Friday, February 15, the choir from the Itxaropen Basque Club gave its first concert in front of an audience at the gardens at city hall as part of the activities that were part of a project to train clarinetists, and directors known as "Convivencia Clarinetística" (Clarinetist Coexistence). At the presentation, the choir successfully performed songs in Euskera “Basatxoritxu” and “Eguberri Abestia,” with arrangements by Edgardo Palotta and directed by renowned Korean-American Maestro Jooyong Ahn.
The Basque club wishes to especially thank the Clarinet Ensemble and its director, Juliet Ugartemendia, “who made our dream come through of creating a choir,” as well as to all the singers, “a beautiful group that wants to continue,” for their time, support and collaboration, club sources said.
“We would also like to thank the city of Saladillo and Gabriela Sameghini, who has directed us since January and taught some of us how to sing, who had never done it before. It was a wonderful experience,” Silvina Bordenave, club representative said.
