The chamber gathers businesses, entrepreneurs and professionals from various economic sectors from all over Argentina, that all have their Basque origin or interest in common. Created last year, and currently directed by Jose Alberto Bereciartua, the entity attained legal status last June and is an associate of the Argentine Confederation of Medium Enterprisses (CAME), and is in permanent contact with the Delegation of the Basque Government and FEVA.
Buenos Aires, Argentina. The new business entity was born a year ago supported by a group of entrepreneurs and professionals all of Basque origin who are convinced that “’The Basque Word’ was a guarantee of reliability in the business world, recognizing its seriousness, support and diligence,” intended to “transmit the solidity of the Basque spirit also into business in Argentina.”
The first board of directors of the Chamber was formed don July 11, 2014. It began taking steps to get legal status, achieved last June 12th. As the Chamber told EuskalKultura.com, “today, the board of directors is formed by Basque entrepreneurs and professionals in Argentina with experience in directing several Business Chambers in the country, or in Basque clubs that have maintained our culture and way of being, expressions that we still want to transmit to the world of business.” “We are convinced that there are a number of Basque clubs in Argentina that have managed to maintain a prosperous and respected community unit in each of the cities where they are located and it is time that those same entrepreneurs of Basque origin participate to achieve improvements in their own businesses for the economic development of both of our countries.”
That is the idea that this was founded with and in hopes of creating a meeting point among these members and to create a network of business contacts that will allow commercial exchange” between Argentina and the Basque Country. The Chamber “supports and develops institutional relationships with actors in the world of business on both sides of the Atlantic.” Today, the Basque-Argentine Business Chamber is an associate of the Argentine Confederation of Midium Size Enterprises (CAME), representing entity of the small and medium-sized businesses in Argentina, integrated by 1,544 Federations, Chambers, Commercial Centers and Industrial Unions across the country, of business sectors, industry and regional economics. This association allows the Chamber to rely on the Confederation’s services, its representation before public organisms, and links to Basque entrepreneurs in all the cities and sectors that comprise CAME.
On the other hand, it is also in touch with FEVA, as well as with Basque clubs that are also associated with important entrepreneurs and professionals in each of their cities. At the institutional level, the Chamber maintains fluid communication with the Delegation of Euskadi in Argentina and with the Delegation of SPRI, Agency for Economic Development in the Basque Government.
