May 25th is a holiday in Argentina. Parades, events, mass and gatherings commemorating the Revolution of 1810 are organized in various formats but always with the same fervor. The Basque clubs that transmit both the Basque culture and the local one, always guarantee the presence of the Basque community at the festivities. Buenos Aires, Argentina. There is a large, historic, philosophical and political discussion about the concept of patriotism. But these reflections don’t overshadow the fervor with which they are celebrated whether it be Aberri Eguna, the Day of the Basque Homeland, celebrated on Easter Sunday, or May 25th. In Argentina, the Day of the Homeland is the day that the Revolution of 1810 is commemorated at events organized across the country.
As the Argentine institutions that they are, Basque clubs also join in the festivities always faithful with their own style, with standard bearers in the parades, or gatherings of members and friends around a meal.
