The Associazione Culturale Euskara, Rome’s Basque club is currently involved in the “Visitazioni: International Festival of Sound Art,” a get-together where music and art facilities come together to explore new possibilities. The A.C.E.’s contribution is with Basque artists Xabier Erkizia, as well as artist Marcello Liberato, who is linked to the club and who will present is installation “Mobile,” today.
Rome, Italy. The Associazione Culturale Euskara has a close relationship with the world of sound art, since several members of the club are musicians and artists in the area. In fact, the Basque club tends to organize very original sound activities at numerous festivals and events. Now, it is the club’s turn to participate in a festival dedicated to the art of sound, the Visitazioni, will take place from September 5-December 5.
The ACE will participate in the festival thanks to Basque artist Xabier Erkizia who will show his work “Non dire (Niente)” at the Santa Rita hall in Rome, until the 21st of this month. In addition, the creator, Marcello Liberato, also linked to the club, will inaugurate his installation Mobile that will be open to the public at the Cortile of the Temple of Apollo until the 27th of the month.
On the other hand, artist Alex Mendizabal, ACE member presented his installation entitled, Belarri berriak (new ears) that was open from September 22 through October 2.
Basque classes in Rome
Basque classes have also begun at the University of Rome 3 in collaboration with HABE. The course began on November 9 and are being held from 15:00-17:00 on Mondays. To complement this class, the Programma di Studi Baschi – Euskal Saila is also organizing talks on Basque culture and literature throughout the year.
