The Aldaxka Association participated in the “Culture Fest” at the College of Humanities at the University of the Republic of Uruguay, introducing students to the Basque culture. Besides sharing all things Basque, Aldaxka members also had a great time and entertained their friends with a very succesful pintxo tasting, exhibits, and a talk on Euskera among others things. Students from Sweden, Japan, Egypt, Greece, Brazil and of course Uruguay participated in the very animated cultural event that was enriching for all.
Montevideo, Uruguay. The Aldaxka Basque Cultural Association participated las September 13th in the “Cultura Fest” at the University of the Republic of Uruguay with a large number of activities, as Member Leonat Egiazabal explained to EuskalKultura.com. Members of Aldaxka conducted an exhibit on traditional Basque costumes, and they also dressed in “abarkas, txapelas, headscarves and makilas in hand as they were walking through campus,” Egiazabal said.
There were also Mus games played in Basque and many popular Basque songs: “Maitiak galde, Beltzarana, Nor nintzen ni, Jaun Baruak y Hegoak, among other”.
One of the most successful activities was the Pintxo tasting, Ikurriñas (a ikurriña looking pintxo) and 'lursagar-moletak' triumphing.

[Representing the most genuine fun and festive tradition of Zuberoa, characters like Pitxu visited the Basque stand]
[In a event introducing Basque traditions, singing needed to be there, in an active way. The audience applauded strongly the concert]
A large number of students, from various countries, stopped by to taste the delicacies and praise Basque gastronomy. In addition there was also a talk on Euskera, the Basque language, by Leonat Egiazabal. 300 people participated in the activities.
