Donostia-San Sebastián. The 3rd Cultural Summit of the CGLU (Cities and Local Governments United) will take place April 3-5 at the Usina del Arte in Buenos Aires with the participation of representatives from cities and local governments on five continents, including the Director of Culture from Bilbao, Iñaki Lopez de Aguileta and Assistant Manager at Donostia Kultura (Donostia Culture) Imanol Galdos talking on Wednesday afternoon. Lopez de Aguileta will also present on Thursday Reading from a text on behalf of the mayor of Bilbao, Juan Mari Aburto.
The CGLU Cultural Commission is presided by the cities of Buenos Aires, Lisbon and Mexico City and its vice-presiders are Barcelona, Bilbao, Bogota, Jeju, Porto Alegre and Rome. The meeting, hosted by Horacio Rodrigues Larrete, Chief of the City of Buenos Aires, is entitled, “The Cities Lead the actions on the Role of Culture in Sustainable Development.” The aim is to give visibility to the international debate on culture, cities and sustainable development, conditioned by recent agreements such as Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development goals of the United Nations, or the New Urban Agenda.
