Necochea, Argentina. Organized by Euzko Etxea and the Federation of Provincial Pilota of Buenos Aires, a Women’s Paleta Tournament took place on Saturday June 15th at the club in Necochea with the participation of athletes from Tandil, Rauch, Gonzales Chaves, Juárez, Dorrego, Buenos Aires and Necochea. The event, hosted by the Necochea Basque club aimed at supporting women’s pilota in the province and was aimed at amateur players receiving a large response. There were 8 teams in pilota and antoher 7 in “nucleus pilota.” After an intense day winners of the nucleo pilota were Navra De Carly and Victoria Goytiño from the Chaves Pilota Club and in pilota goma, Albertina Corbal and Mildred Saavedra from the Club in Tandil.
Due to the event’s success, and according to Joseba Bilbao, pilota reference, who spoke to EuskalKultura.com, the organizers have decided to hold another event in Tandil with a date to be determined.
The well-known pilotari also announced that the Women’s International Pilota Tournament will take place in Necochea December 5-9th with players coming from the US, Peru, Uruguay, Chile and Argentina.
