Students at the Complutense University in Madrid (UCM) can now get credit for studying Basque at the UCM. This news came to us from Professor Karlos Cid Abasolo who teaches Philology and Euskera at the university. This is not a trivial advancement and so Euskera students and local Euskaltzales “have a reason to celebrate today together with the songs and music of singer-songwriter Josu Bergara who will perform at the university today presenting his latest album Kanta txikien indarra.”
Madrid, Spain. The good news from Madrid is that students at the Complutense University (UCM) can now get credit for taking Basque I, according to Karlos Cid Abasolo, profesor of Philology and Euskera at UCM.
“Hori busti beharra dago,” (this has to be celebrated) and what better way to do so than with a recital organized by Taupada Elkartea. The recital by Josu Bergara will take place at 7pm at the UCM in the College of Philology, Salon de Grados, in Building A. He will be accompanied by Mikel Nuñez on the piano.
Josu Bergara will present his latest album Kanta txikien indarra (The Strength of Little Songs) and anyone wishing to purchase one, or have one autographed, will also have the opportunity to do that at the event
Congratulations on the concert and for this next step in earning credits to learn Euskera, which surely helps many interested in studying the language in various degrees university-wide. Zorionak!
