Donostia-San Sebastian. The San Sebastian festival has once again surpassed borders and has reached the Diaspora. One of the last clubs to join in the festivities this year was the Quebec, Basque club, Euskaldunak that celebrated it for the first time and didn’t hesitate to debut with Tamborrada included.
Members of Euskaldunak gathered at a restaurant in Montreal where they were able to watch the retransmission of the Tamborrada in Donostia and Azpeitia on ETB. The atmosphere was great and according to club sources, proceeds of the event will go towards funding future activities.

At the other extreme is the Mexico City Basque club, where the Danborrada is an annual event and gathers the largest number of members and friends. This year, the festivities were once again spectacular with great atmosphere among the diners who were waiting for the big moment at midnight. And that’s what happened, when the tamborreros entered, directed by Major Alfredo Jover, playing the San Sebastian March.

In Madrid, the Basque club celebrated the event twice, once for the adults on January 19 with dinner and tamborrada in the Jai Alai restaurant, then again yesterday for the children who once again made their parents emotional by playing their drums in front of the Basque club.

In Venezuela, the Eusko Etxea Basque club celebrated the event on January 25th with a meeting where the songs of Sarriegi were also played, this time on the txistu by Koldo Olalde. The Tamborrada was preceded by a pilota match.
