Donostia-San Sebastián. As we have mentioned on different occasions, conditioned by the pandemic, the singer from Portugalete (Bizkaia) Joseba Gotzon, is busy launching “Urrundik”, a song dedicated to the Diaspora Postponing the presentation tour until 2021, Gotzon has just published the music video. There you can see and hear many members of the Diaspora, with images from different countries. Remember that Joseba Gotzon presented the song on September 8th, Day of the Basque Diaspora.
The singer has very strong ties with many Basque abroad, and especially with Basque communities and clubs in Europe and Latin America. In fact, over the years, he has toured and performed many concerts at Basque clubs all over Latin America. The song “Urrundik” is named in fact, after the Parana Basque Club in Argentina by the same name and the singer wanted to pay tribute to this club and by extension to all of the Basque clubs in the Basque Diaspora.
The backup singers on the song includes many voices of the singer’s friends in the Diaspora from Argentina, Begoña Tisera, María Silva Soloaga, Carolina Bravo, Sabrina Otegui, Valeria Aramburu and Juan Carlos Borrás; from Brazil, Ederson Otharan, Juliana Batista and a group from the Eusko Brasildar Etxea with Oskar Goitia, María Cecilia Medina, José Pérez y Dunia Karolina Salazar; from Cuba, Odalys Echevarria; from Japan, Hidenao Dohino; from Mexico, Nancy Romano Echavarria, Haizea Elizondo Gorroño and students from thel UNAM Euskara Irakurletza; from Uruguay, María Noel Abella Aiscar and Federica Zieleniec; from Chile, Angel Espinoza and Carmilla Karnstein; from Colombia, Iker Guillermo López)

“Urrundik” lyrics:
Atlantikoak banandu bagaitu ere
Malkoek ikusten ez utzi arren
Nostalgia itzelean murgildurik
Zure dantzari lotuta, zutik.
Gure aberriak ditu bi arima
Zure askatasuna da gure ametsa
Arbasoen aztarna mendez mende
Gure barnean bizirik segitzen.
Urrundik, Urrundik beti gure bihotzean
Urrundik, Urrundik zure penak, gureak.
Txapela eskaintzen dizuegu
Eskerrik onenak emateko
Gure kultura lau haizetara
“Presencia Vasca” irratsaioz
Euskal Herritik Ameriketaraino
Urez betetako zeru
Hamar mila kilometro
Sentimendu bat tinko
And their translation into Spanish.
