Rosario, Argentina. Celebration of Dantzari Day at the Zazpirak Bat Basque Club in Rosario included a program with various organized proposals including the Tamborrada and the club’s Gaztedi Zutik dancers. The program took place last weekend, September 28-29, and included a Tamborrada workshop and a San Miguel dance and festivities as its main activities, although there was also a city tour for guests, and a closing lunch.
Basque club sources stressed that from the beginning of the year, dantzaris and former dantzaris have gotten together to practice a fandango that they call “Transgenerational,” “because it transcends generations of cousins, parents, brothers and friends that share the same passion,” Maria Eugenia Iribarren, member of the dance group, explained to EuskalKultura.eus.
The Tamborrada workshop was directed by Jorge Rabufetti, Maite Anitua, Miren Arozarena and José María Gutiérrez, representing the Laurak Bat Basque Club. It also included the participation of local drummers as well as those from Basque clubs in Arrecifes, Pergamino, Villa María and Lomas de Zamora.
