The official kick-off for Semana Nacional Vasca Argentina 2016 is on next Monday, although as every year, the main activity will take place on Saturday and Sunday. Kalakan will perform on Friday on their mini-tour through Argentina and Uruguay. What better way to get ready for this year’s festivities than by reliving last year’s event in Macachin! Eskerrik asko to both Euskal Etxeak!
Buenos Aires, Argentina. Following is a selection of some of the images of last year’s Semana Nacional Vasca Argentina in Macachin, La Pampa, displaying the more playful aspect and the enthusiasm of the event, sometimes its most poignant and powerful side. The Euskaltzaleak Choir from Buenos Aires performs its version of “Agur Jaunak:" “Agur Jaunak eta Andreak.”
It’s always the right time for the young, and not so young, to dance a fandango:
During the dance, Maral from Arrecifes played its version of “Lau teilatu:”
The Tamborrada from Donostia is an essential part of the festivities, led this time by Rosana Entizne:
Josu Erkoreka represented the Basque Government at the event, and he also danced a deserved Aurresku in honor of the club’s president, Iñaki Unamuno:
Herri Kirolak also had their moment during Semana Vasca in Macachin:
There is no better way to finish off this selection than with more dancing in Macachin, who passes the baton this Monday to Necochea (Eskerrik asko!):
