Anyone who had the chance to be in Necochea last weekend, experienced some very intense days, full of activities and excitement. But the weekend came to an end on Sunday, and after lunch we had to say goodbye. The delegations left the Euzko Etxea, but not really wanting to. What is now for sure, is that they will have another chance to gather, next year, November 10-12, in San Nicolas. The last installment of Semana Nacional Vasca Argentina 2016.
Necochea, Argentina. The Euzkal Etxea Basque Club in San Nicolas is now in charge of organizing next year’s Semana Nacional Vasca Argentina. “We know that it will be a lot of work,” they said, “but we are brave.” In order to get it in your agenda, dates for Semana Nacional Vasca 2017 will take place November 10-12.
Meanwhile, while it is still fresh in our memory: Sunday began with mass and a wreath laying at the Tree of Gernika; followed by dancing in the plaza and finally the closing banquet. During the latter, besides greetings from officials and the presentation of presents between delegations and the organizers, winners in the poster contest were also announced. The winning design will be used in all the promotional materials for Basque classes in 2017. The award went to the Euzko Biltzar Basque Club in Coronel Pringles to its teacher and students, Janita Zubizarreta.
