Buenos Aires, Argentina. Organized by the Basque Summer University of Argentina, the Seminar of Basque Film will take place in the Auditorium, Leonardo Favio in the Library of Congress (Alsina 1835), presented by Professor Carlos Alberto Gabilondo and is free and open to the public. The UVV invites all interested persons “to share these very good movies in a beautiful auditorium.”
The Seminar will begin tomorrow and will continue every Tuesday according to the following schedule:

Secretos del corazón (Secrets of the Heart) (1997) by Montxo Armendariz. Nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film and voted in the Basque Copuntry best Basque film of the year, winner of four Goya prizes. Alas de Mariposa (Butterfly Wings) (1991) by Juanma Bajo Ulloa. Consecrated as Opera Prima, and winner of the Gold Shell of San Sebastian. Performed by: Silvia Munt (Carmen), Fernando Valverde (Gabriel), Susana Garcia Diez (Ami), Laura Vaquero (Young Ami), Txema Blasco (Grandfather), Alberto Martin Aranaga (Gorka). Duration 1 hour 40 minutes.

Ama Lur (Mother Earth) (1968). Documentary. Screenplay: Nestor Basterretxea and Fernando Larruquert. It is an approach to the country, carried out under the Franco regime and censored. It is a classic example of Basque cinematography. Duration 1 hour 30 minutes.
On October 2, prior, at an event celebrated at 18:00, the book of The Basque Summer University 2012 Edition will be presented and will be given to the students whose works are collected in it. Following the event it will be presented to the authorities of the Library of Congress of the Nation along with the complete collection of UVV books from its creation in 2009 through today.
