Caracas, Venezuela. San Fermin at the Eusko Etxea in Caracas in Venezuela is without a doubt the most similar to those that take place in Pamplona. In fact, the Venezuelan capital celebrates with an encierro with real bulls – here heifers – and “brave young men” who dare to run. In 2019, the bulls came from Tribiño Livestock and were “big and brave” according to Pedro Arriaga Aguirre and local Basque bulletin Jazoera, who also said they responded to names like “Kalimotxo” and “Viento de Agua.”

Despite their main role in the festivities, let's remember that San Fermin in Venezuela isn’t limited to the encierros, and also begins with a Txupinazo, followed by songs to the Saint, running of the bulls, and later lunch, music and dance. The festivities this year, also included the participation of a delegation from the Carabobo Basque Club, and lasted late into the night.

In the words of club reference, Pedro Arriaga Aguirre, “once again the Saint helped us have wonderful weather during this rainy season and the Basque club vibrated with San Fermin.” See photos, here
