Buenos Aires, Argentina. The contest organized by the Iparraldeko Euskal Etxea-Centro Vasco Francés as part of its 124th anniversary already has winners. Norma Rios, referent of the club’s subcommittee told Euskalkultura.eus that “there were a lot of participants locally and internationally and we received texts from various parts of Argentina but also from the Basque Country, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Spain, Mexico Venezuela, the US, Ecuador and Bolivia.
The three winners were:
- First place went to “El anillo de la reina,” (The Queen’s Ring) by Nieves E. Morán Diez (Buenos Aires)
- Second place went to “Mis orígenes,” (My Origins) by Itziar Laborda Otaduy (Bilbao)
- Third place went to “Las nietas del contrabandista,”(The Smuggler’s Grandchildren) by Maria Valeria Aramburu (Tandil)
The jury comprised by translator Rosa Misciagna, engineer Carlos Bordagaray and Professor Mikel Ezkerro also awarded the following with special mentions. Those recipients follow:

The awards ceremony will take place at the headquarters of the Iparraldeko Euskal Etxea on Saturday October 19th at 6:30pm.
