Reno, Nevada, USA. Leroy Arrascada, first president of the club, addressed the crowd and expressed his surprise and delight that after forty some years he was able to see his daughter Christine Arimini take a seat on the board. He said that it was something that he never would have imagined when he was elected president in 1966.
Newly-elected President Kate Camino will be supported by Narvarte who will remain on the board as a director. Others elected were Pedro Oiarzabal, vice-president; Margurite Wilson treasurer; Mary Lou Urrutia NABO representative; and directors Christine Arimini, Jennifer Etcheberry, Marylou Etcheberry, Joxe Mallea, Cheri Valcarce Sarratea, and Manny Vilanueva.
Jack Yturiaga and Tori Simcoe will remain on the board to finish their terms as director and NABO representative respectively and Lauri Narvarte was appointed as club secretary as that post remained vacant after the election. This year proves to be an exciting one for the new board especially in light of the club’s co-hosting this year’s annual NABO convention and festival to be held in Reno July 23-26, 2009.
