Puerto Madryn, Argentina. The Etorritakoengatik Basque club, in the Argentinean province of Chubut, reviewed its 2012 activities and was satisfied as they completed the goals that they had set at the beginning of the year. Club president, Nicolas Fagoaga, especially appreciates the support received from the Nechochea Basque club, and its dance instructors, thanks to whom they were able to form and strengthen their own dance group. The Etorritakoengatik group gathered its forces “successfully debuting at the evening gala at this year’s National Basque Week in Rosario.”
Additionally, during this year the club submitted the required forms, in February, and received official recognition in May required by FEVA and the Basque Government in order to be recognized as a Basque club in the Diaspora.
It has also created a subcommittee for gastronomy and paleta, as well as participating in the city’s festivities like the Fair of Nations or the Day of the Immigrant. During December the club hosted the sailboat Pakea Bizkaia en route to Antarctica among other activities.
