Reno, NV. Several international experts will be welcomed at the University of Nevada, Reno this Wednesday and Thursday to participate in the 13th Annual Center for Basque Studies Conference. This international get together is organized in collaboration with the invited professor as part of the William Douglass Distinguished Visiting Scholar program and usually focuses on a theme relevant to that person’s research.
This year’s scholar is Joseba Agirreazkuenaga, full professor of history at the University of the Basque Country whose research interests include public finance and fiscality, history of parliaments and representative assemblies, politics communication and social history among others.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Fiscal Systems and the Crisis.” The goal is to compare and debate the subject of public finance and self-government in Euskadi, Catalonia and Nevada.
The conference is free and open to the public.
