'Traductor de Sueños por Babilonia,' posthumous book of Sergio Oiarzabal, will be presented tomorrow at the Bidebarrieta Library in Bilbao as part of a tribute that will start at 7:30pm. The writer died unexpectedly on Saturday June 12th at his home in Bilbao. He was 36. Poets, writers, musicians and friends will attend the homage and presentation of the book. Sergio Oiarzabal was brother of Pedro Oiarzabal a historian and researcher specialized in Basque diaspora studies, currently working at the Deusto University. Both the tribute and the presentation are open to the public.

Bilbao, Bizkaia. The homage to Sergio Oiarzabal (Bilbao, 1973-2010) has been coordinated by local writer Javier Arnaiz. Through the evening different artists, writers and rhapsodists will interpret and recite a selection of Oiarzabal’s poems. According to the organizers, "the event looks quite promising as well as emotional."

In addition, several prominent individuals, including Ibone Bengoetxea (Council Woman of the Culture and Education Department of the Town Hall of Bilbao), Fernando Zamora (President of the Bizkaian Artistic Association), Mercedes Acillona (Professor of Literature at the University of Deusto), and Iván Répila, Editor of Masmédula Ediciones will participate in the tribute.

Iván Répila comments that Sergio Oiarzabal was not only "an important author of Masmédula’s catalogue and one of the most outstanding voices in contemporary poetry" but above all "he was my friend."

The prologues of 'Traductor de Sueños por Babilonia' has been written by poet Hasier Larretxea, who describes it as "an alphabet of dreams” and as “a glint of intensity that throbs in each page."

Oiarzabal’s latest book, Delicatessen Underground: Bilbao Ametsak was highly praised by critics and public, becoming one of the best-selling poetry books in Spain in 2009.
