After the successful experience in 2012, Chef Itziar Aguirre, from Rosario, returns with another edition of “Pilpileando Argentina.” The event, that combines Basque gastronomy with a spirit of solidarity in the Basque clubs, will take place throughout the year on a schedule created by FEVA. The conditions to participate and the invitation to enroll will be sent to Basque clubs in the near future by the Federation.
Buenos Aires, Argentina. The “Pilpileando Argentina 2015,” will follow a similar model to that of 2012, that is Basque-Argentine chef Itziar Aguirre will provide interested Basque clubs with a masters class on Basque cooking and will prepare three dishes, an appetizer, entree and dessert. Classes will last for one hour and a half, and will be open to the public. Interested persons should pay their enrollment with non-perishable food or an item that the foundation will request. To summarize, in the worlds of supporters of the project, “Pilpileando Argentina is a solidarity gastronomic tour, using Basque cooking as the main tool, as well as the presence of the Basque clubs in the country and their commitment to the society.”
In regards to foundations who will receive the donations, in this opportunity, unlike that of 2012, the Basque clubs will choose the charities. Classes will be taught throughout the year, during the week, with a maximum of two per month. In regards to the cost of the event, Basque clubs will be in charge of paying for travel and room and board for the chef, as well as for those associated to venues, class materials and raw materials. On her part and “in hopes of focusing on the efforts of the community, Chef Itziar Aguirre will teach for free.”
The criteria to participate in this “solidarity gastronomic tour” as well as the steps for Basque clubs to enroll will be published by FEVA soon, from which a schedule will be created. Remember that in order for this to be successful, the commitment of the Basque clubs is imperative along with that of the federation, at the time of promoting classes to the public, as well as donations of food and/or other elements; that will be passed to the chosen charity.
