Trujillo, Peru. Last Friday, May 10th, organized by the Trujilloko Euskal Etxea, a conference entitled, “Identity and Culture in Euskal Herria and the Diaspora,” by Wilfredo Lizarzaburu inaugurated the Cycle of Conference and Workshops, as part of the Bicentennial of Trujillo’s independence.
As indicated in a note from the Basque club, Basque entity aims to “make the influence of the Basques known in the process of emancipation, and the establishment and development of the city.” Coincidently, the lecturer, Wilfredo Lizarzaburu Muñoz one of the club’s founding members, also celebrated his birthday on the 10th which he celebrated dedicated to his passion of informing others of the past and present of the Basque Peruvian community.
