Cipolletti, Argentina. The Baskos de la Confluencia Basque Club accompanied its member and friend, Pedro Arana Urionabarrenechea, on October 9th to his presentation of Txalaparta, Cosas de Vascos (Txalaparta, Basque Things,) as part of the 7th edition of the Cipolletti Book Fair in the province of Rio Negro. Basque club sources explain that Arana was invited especially by the Municipal Directorate of Culture to do the presentation that was very well attended.
Txalaparta, Basque Things includes “knowledge, traditions and feelings of the Basque people, as well as stories about the origin of the author, the history of his parents uprooting from Euskadi to Buenos Aires, as well as his own, taking the reverse path.”
Even if it was the first presentation of the book for Argentine public audiences, the book is already in Euskal Herria since the author himself delivered a copy to the Basque Government’s Director of the Basque community Abroad, Gorka Alavrez Aranburu, who added it to the Basque Diaspora Archive collection.
