Bariloche, Argentina. The local Basque club celebrated its birthday with dinner on June 15th at the club’s facilities, just meters from the Nahuel Huapi Lake. In a warm atmosphere, some 70 people enjoyed the homemade menu and Basque dances performed by the club’s txiki dancers who performed an Aurresku among other dances. Club president, Stella Maris Larraburu, addressed those present and invited everyone to toast and share some of the birthday cake (more photos here).
In 2019, and due to a push given to each club in the region at the Meeting of Patagonian Basque clubs, the Mendiko Eusko Etxea wasn’t only the host of the first meeting of this kind organized by FEVA, but also became part of the Federation's Board of Directors.
Besides its national and regional presence, we want to remind you that the Mendiko Eusko Etxea is one of the institutions responsible for organizing the Festival of Foreign Collectivities that is celebrated annually in Bariloche in November. Presided by Facundo Galvan, dantzari from the club, the organizing commission is already working on this year’s event that is also its 40th edition.
