Iruña-Pamplona. In the Navarre Museo in Pamplona the exhibit entitled "Gerardo Lizarraga. Artist in Exile" was inaugurated yesterday. The exhibit is a retrospective on the life and work of the painter originally from Pamplona, his time in French concentration camps of Argelès-sur-Mer, Agde and Clermont Ferrand, his artistic experience since his arrival in Mexico in 1942, showing his portraits, landscapes and mural projects as well as several illustrations that he combined with topics from his homeland and his new host country.
More than 150 original documents and photos related to the live and work of Lizarraga complete the exhibit that also recuperates once of his less know artistic facets that links him to the world of cinema.
This cultural offering about art, exile and the artist will be complemented by online conferences, guided visits talks and film screenings.
