Rosario, Argentina. As part of the “Cultural Bridge Rosario Victoria,” the local Basque club is the scene for the book presentation of Salbador Juaquin Ezpeleta by Juan Carlos Gonzalez. The choice of this site for the ceremony is not a coincidence, since Salbador Juaquin Ezpeleta, was the founder of the city of Victoria where he built up a chappel dedicated to the Virgin of Arantzazu, that would become the city’s patron saint. Ezpeleta was one of the leading men of the nineteenth century in the province of Entre Rios, and a Basque, native of the town of Oiartzun in Gipuzkoa.
Several writers will gather at the Basque club to participate in the activity. The author and scholar, Roberto Bereciartua will be in charge of talking about the book; the speaker, winner of the Martin Fierro award in 2013, Luis Albornoz, will read the story “The Ghost of Cal” by Carlos Sforza, and the artist, Dolores Moline will exhibit her works.
The event will begin at 8pm on Friday at the Zazpirak Bat club house at Entre Rios 261. We would like to remind you that this work talks about passages in the history of Ezpeleta, the man and founder of Victoria, from before his arrival to Argentina through his time and contributions to this country. On the right bank of the La Plata River, in the Province of Buenos Aires, is the city of Ezpeleta that also owes its name to that son of Oiartzun, and to his Argentina born son Mariano de Ezpeleta, deputy of Santa Fe.
