Donostia-San Sebastián. The Diaspora is part of Arantzazu Ametzaga Iribarren's DNA as it is her Basqueness. Diaspora Basqueness that many lived and live all over the world with intensity – some despite never having set foot on Amalur, the European Basque homeland – in her case as a daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, of Basques born wherever life took them. Sometimes due to vicissitudes linked to a dictatorship and political persecution, as is the case, or to whatever motive. She is Basque by inheritance, endorsed by her decision and commitment to continue being so. Years ago she returned to the Basque Country and now she writes from her corner in Errikotxiki, in the Valley of Egues, in Navarre, where she continues to write books and articles.
She now comes with an article that links memories of the past with the most rabid current events, that of the current pandemic, which is not the first in her memory.
You can read about it in her blog in Spanish on EuskalKultura, here. On egin!
