Over last weekend, the Diaspora joined in the San Fermin festivities and did so carrying out several varied activities. Nevertheless, all had one thing in common: red neckerchiefs around a rickety, or the gigantes and cabezudos, or dantzaris. In Argentina, the Basque and Navarran clubs took a break from their daily routine to lift their glasses, and botas, in honor of the Saint.
Buenos Aires, Argentina. The traditional txupinazo that is launched every year in Iruña-Pamplona also comes symbolically to all the corners of Argentina where the Basque and Navarran clubs are infected by the joy of the festival and organize their own festivities. The difference from what happens in the Navarran capital, is that on this side of the Atlantic, the festivities don’t usually last more than one day, in most cases, but during this day, they try to revive the most traditional practices of the festival.
In the 2016 edition, the majority of the festivities in Argentina were held last weekend. Although in some places, it will be celebrated next Saturday. Today we are adding the San Fermin event to be held at Denak Bat in Lomas de Zamorra, on July 16th beginning at 20:30pm to the list.
