Vitoria-Gasteiz. Over the last few weeks, we have announced on EuskalKultura.eus what an important resource Aiko Eskola's virtual Basque Dance Academy is for dantzaris and lovers of Basque dance all over the world. The Basque Government joined in the idea and signed an agreement with Aiko so that in a year like this one, conditioned by the pandemic and with the cancellation of initiatives like Gaztemundu, they could make this opportunity available to youth in Basque clubs through a program of scholarships called Dantza Munduan.
From the Directorate of the Basque Community Abroad, its director, Gorka Alvarez Aranburu now reports that they have received many requests for grants to participate. He added, that all requests will be attended; and that the number of participants admitted is currently 171 from 13 countries. This number could increase however.
Alvarez Aranburu was very satisfied with the response and values its acceptance very positively, showing hope with the impact that the initiative and its multiplier effect can generate in all Basque clubs.
