Sabrina Otegui Buenos Aires, Argentina / Amori, Japan. Mio Ortiz is the president of “Reala Nippon,” the first Official Peña of the Donostia-San Sebastian Real Sociedad Soccer team on the Asian continent. However, it’s not just because of the “txuri-urdin” (colors of Real) that Mio returns frequently to the Basque capital, she also says that she is a fan of the food there, the life style, and sagardotegis (cider houses) where she “loves” to go with her friends.
Mio is a Real fanatic, but she doesn’t have a favorite soccer team in Japan. “I am struck by Gamba Osaka where Markel Susaeta used to play and I would like to go see a “Vissel Kobe” game, where Andrés Iniesta plays,” she told EuskalKultura.eus..
How did Mio go to the Basque Country for the first time? How did she dare to create a Peña? What impact did her initiative have on Real followers? Mio responded to these and other questions in this interview. Mila esker, lagun! Eta Gora Reala! :-)
