The Chief of the Government of Gipuzkoa, Markel Olano, has sent a video message to the Basques in the Diaspora on the occasion of the celebration on December 3rd, of the ENE (Euskararen Nazioarteko Eguna) or International Day of the Basque Language. Olano thanks his fellow citizens living abroad for the important contribution they made and they keep making from the different countries in the world where they live to preserve and to transmit Euskera. The Deputy General of Gipuzkoa also remarks the importance of the idea of "lingustic equality".

Donostia-San Sebastián. On the International Day of the Basque Language, the Deputy General of Gipuzkoa, Markel Olano, has  expressed his gratitude towards the Basques in the Diaspora, for the contribution to the Basque Country and the Basque culture they make from the different countries where they live on.

Yesterday, within the activities of said International Day of Basque Language, Olano presented the Anton Abbadia 2015 award to Kike Amonarriz, a renowned Basque sociologist and tv presenter, for his remarkable contribution to Basque language in several fields, but always with the common denominator of humor and a fresh, positive point of view.
