At an event especially attended by youth, Euskaltzaleak was the site of the first Mintzodromo in the area and another Triki-poteo through the streets of San Telmo.  Euskaltegi sources stressed the attendance of Basque teachers and students from La Plata, Necochea, as well as a large group of locals including dantzaris, and musicians from Laurak Bat, Centro Navarro, Denak Bat from Cañuelas, and an authentic koadrilla of Basque exchange students (see video).

Buenos Aires, Argentina.   The Basque Language School in Buenos Aires once again experienced a day dedicated to Euskera that clearly surpassed expectations. Not only was the number of participants higher: Some 50 Euskaldunak, including teachers and students from Euskaltzaleak, from face-to-face classes as well as on-line; from the Euzko Etxea in La Plata, and the Basque Language and Culture lecturer in La Plata, the Euzko Etxea in Necochea, all accompanied by great weather.

Euskaltzaleak’s goal is the diffusion of the Basque language so the Mintzodromo wasn’t the only activity on Saturday.  After it, there was a Triki-poteo through the streets of the neighborhood, the seventh held since October 2013 where members of the institution’s music workshops entertained for the first time in an activity that is common practice in the Basque Country.

Along with that, as part of the festivities, and joining in the Human Chain that took place the day after in Euskal Herria, those present united symbolically forming a chain that linked the Euskaltegi to the Castelao Plaza.

Finally, even if it was a festive event, the hosts were saddened having to say goodbye to Ana Maria Esain, a friend of the club and a loyal attendee of the gatherings and film series.  This is why the event opened with an Aurresku.

Gogoan zaitugu Ana Maria!
