Donostia-San Sebastian. The Gure Txoko Basque Club in Valladolid has a tradition of visiting the Basque Country every year, for a couple of days, when members take advantage of the trip to visit new places and enjoy the food of the area.
This year, the trip took place on March 21-22 and it took them to Donostia and Durango areas. The visit began in the Donostia area where they went to lunch at the Calonge cider house in Igeldo. In the afternoon, they visited and had a drink in the Old Part. In the evening the group returned to Igeldo to stay at the Hotel Leku-Eder.
On the next day, the group visited the Goikola baserri in Itziar, where members of Gure Txoko saw how cheese was made, and also how to spin wool. Afterwards, the group traveled to Durango, where the trip ended with a meal at the Mendigoikoa restaurant. Sonia Hernandez Albistegui, Basque teacher at the club, shared some of the images of the trip with EuskalKultura.com. Eskerrik Asko!
