“Makila” is a show supported by two associations in the Euskal Etxea in Paris (Gazteria and Gernika), that gathers dantzaris, singers and Basque musicians to create a Basque cultural offering “made in Paris.” It will be presented tomorrow afternoon in the Armand Bejart de Asnieres Sur Seine Theater and will gather 60 people on stage.  As a teaser, we leave you with a video presentation that has posted to social media.

Paris, France.  A Basque show “made in Paris,” is how “Makila” is being presented according to our Friends at the Paris Basque club.  The project was created with the collaboration of several artists, dantzaris, singers and Basque musicians who live in the French capital, supported by the Gazteria and Gernika associations.  Many of them work at the club all week long teaching dance, singing or Euskera…and with this work they wanted to continue giving by continuing to make the Basque culture known on the banks of the Seine.

“Everyone joined forces on this Project and brought their knowledge, values and customs they have learned.  It is like testimony that is transmitted to those who come after, so we have chosen the name makila,” according to club sources.

The show debuts tomorrow a the Armand Bejart de Asnieres sur Seine starting at 8pm.  Admission is 15 Euros.  Reservations can be made by phone: 07-81-89-50-38 or email: makila.reservation@gmail.com. They are also available online: here.
