Madrid, Spain. The Madrid Euskal Etxea let us know about the recent recognition that member Ana Adarraga Elizaran received from the Royal Spanish Gastronomic Society awarding her the Marques de Parabere Prize for “the best publishing initiative linked to gastronomy.” Forty six year ago, Ana born in Hernani, opened the opened the Aliana Bookstore in Madrid, and 27 years ago she specialized in gastronomic issues. In 2000, her daughter from Donostia, Antarza Miralles, joined the project and currently serves customers around the world at the original store as well as online.
The Marquesa de Parabere,award ceremony, another name with a Basque tie, took place on October 17th at the NH Collection Madrid Sweden Hotel presented by the Spanish Royal Academy of Gastronomy, presided by Rafael Anson, in collaboration with the Cofradía de la Buena Mesa.

The Aliana Bookstore continues its work today at a good pace, although its owners would like to transfer it and enjoy a well-deserved retirement. That date has been set for January 31, 2020. Interested parties should contact the bookstore.)
