Arrecifes, Argentina. Year by year more Basque clubs are organizing in Argentina trips to different areas of the Basque Country. With much experience behind her the former president of Arrecifes Euskaldunak Denak Bat and voice of Maral, is preparing her third group trip to the Basque Country planned for August 2016, in the height of summer in Europe. The proposal is aimed especially to members of Basque clubs, but of course is extended to anyone wishing to get to know the Basque Country and submerge themselves in the Basque culture, Mariana Dominé Irigoyen says.
The trip will leave from Ezeiza headed first to Bilbao where the itinerary will take travelers to the most significant spots on both sides of the Pyrenees. The capital cities, the coasts of Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, Getxo, the bridge in Protugalete, Gaztelugatxe, Getaria, Zarautz, Hondarribia…., inland towns like Gernika, Tolosa, Oñati and Zumarraga, and touristic spots that can’t be left behind like the Arriaga Theater, the Caves at Santimamiñe and Zugarramurdi, Arantzazu…among others. (Complete tour here).
"All group excursions will be accompanied by a local guide. Travel will be on first-class busses, and lodging will be in 4-star hotels. Also included are 12 lunches and two dinners at typical Basque restaurants."
As explained by trip organizer, “The trip is geared towards the needs of the travelers, with experiences that allow the tour to improve year after year. For example, we have added two more days so that travelers can have free time to visit family there. This year, we have also included a trip to Semana Grande in Bilbao, an excellent opportunity for the group to enjoy the various offerings and connect to its music and flavors,” Domine said.
