Donostia-San Sebastian. The movie Ainara, the mysterious story of a young Basque girl who was raised in the US but who returns to her homeland, continues to advance and in recent weeks a large number of Basque artists and professionals have joined filmmaker Jean Darrigol’s project. The most recent are the group Zea Mays, who will participate in the soundtrack and actors such as Garbiñe Insausti, expert theater actress has succeeded internationally with the play André & Dorine (See article on EuskalKultura.com).
The movie’s producers have now announced the beginning of pre-casting process for extras. Shooting is scheduled for 2013, but pre-selection is carried out “in advance, to allow the greatest number of internet users possible to find out about the project,” according to those responsible for Ainara.
They are now seeking around 30 men and women between the ages of 18 and 78 years to participate in or several scenes shot “in a traditional rural music bar in the Basque Country.” Anyone interested can register using the “pre-casting” application on Ainara’s Facebook page as well as by sending 1-4 personal photos, one of which preferably to be a full-length picture.

Members of the artistic and technical team of the film will welcome May 13 to "Herri Urrats" (large gathering for the development of the Basque language) in Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle, the Northern Basque Country, to help you discover "Ainara" a wonderful cinematographic adventure. You will be able to contribute to the development of auteur cinema "Ainara" in the Basque Country by signing a book of support, participating to the localizations, etc. We invite you to come to Herri Urrats also to walk in the footsteps of Ainara.
