The Advisory Board of Basque Collectivities met yesterday at the Lehendakaritza (Presidency of the Basque Government) in Vitoria-Gasteiz for its annual meeting, presided over by Lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu.  Marian Elorza, the Secretary General of Foreign Action, and Asier Vallejo, Director of the Basque Community Abroad addressed the group along with the Lehendakari himself and other council members. 

Vitoria-Gasteiz.  This is the second meeting of the council comprised of representatives of different Basque Government departments and agencies, along with Basque Parliament and Provincial Government representatives.  Basque Municipal representatives through EUDEL, and other institutions that are part of the country’s network like the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) or Euskaltzaindia as well as three representatives of the Basque clubs around the world were also in attendance.

Those present heard reports and discussed various aspects of the reality and plans in relation to the Basque clubs and Basque collectivities, evaluating this year, and presenting plans and making forecasts for the upcoming year.  The 6^th World Congress of Basque Collectivities is also tentatively going to take place in 2015 in Vitoria-Gasteiz, as stipulated in the law 8/1994. This law celebrated this year its 20^th year of regulating relations between Euskadi and Basques, Basque clubs and Basque communities scattered around the world.
