Do you want to sing traditional Christmas Carols in Basque this year with your family? Would you like to sing songs in Basque, but you don’t know how to speak it? The Txantxangorria.eus website provides more than 1,700 videos of Basque karaoke, with lyrics so that you can sing them. And at the same time, learn and practice Euskera. In the end, that was the idea of its creator, Gabi de la Maza, when he began the project.
Donostia-San Sebastian. The website Txantxangorria.eus provides a small treasure to internet users interested in learning Basque songs and Basque students, since karaoke is an excellent resource for singing, having fun, and at the same time, practice the lingua navarorrum.
The web was created by Basque teacher Gabi de la Maza when he began making karaoke videos with Basque songs for his students. The students themselves were the ones requesting You Tube videos and that is how this Txantxangorria (Robin) of a network started. Now, de la Maza, has two You Tube channels full of karaoke that currently includes 1,790 songs. And the number continues to grow, since new songs are added regularly.
From EuskalKultura.com we wanted to highlight some of the Christmas Carols, but we invited our readers, and especially those learning Basque, to research the entire catalogue. We can imagine finishing your Basque classes with a little Basque karaoke.
