Buenos Aires, Argentina. Looking at the program for “Buenos Aires Celebrates,” that is already being circulated on social media like BAC, you don’t have to wait for the day after to understand its impact. The increase in participation by local institutions as well as international figures makes one think that the festival in the Basque community on the Avenida de Mayo has already attained a privileged spot not only on the city’s calendar, but also for everyone who participates, the audience and the personalities from the Basque Country that continue to join in the event that will take place on May 11th.
In regards to visits that will take place, yesterday afternoon the Delegation of Euskadi in Buenos Aires confirmed that La Oreja de Van Gogh will be in on the Euskadi-Basque Country stand starting at 12:30. There they will draw two tickets to see the group led by Leire Martinez, in each one of the five cities where they will perform in Argentina, as part of their tour from May 12th to the 18th.
To participate in the drawing all you have to do is answer these two questions correctly:
1. Where did La Oreja de Van Gogh record its video Dia Cero in Argentina?
2. Who is the Argentinean artist that sings with the group in the front of the song Deseo de cosas imposibles?
The answers to the questions should be sent via email to: concursolodvg@gmail.com. Deadline to enter is Saturday May 10, 2014 at 1pm (Buenos Aires time) and can also be left at one of the Euskadi-Basque Country stands at “Buenos Aires Celebrates the Basque Country (Ave. de Mayo y Florida) on Sunday May 11th from 11:30-12:30. Along with the answers, participants should include their name, DNI, email and telephone number.
The raffle will take place on Sunday May 11th at 12:30pm at the Basque Government stand with members of the group present. Winners that are not present will be notified by email or phone.
The band will perform in the following cities:
-Rosario, City Center, May 12th
-Córdoba, Quality Space, May 14th-Mendoza, Auditorium Angel Bustelo, May 15th-Mar del Plata, Club GAP, May 17th-Bahía Blanca, Don Bosco Theater, May 18th
The group’s repertoire is totally in Spanish even if its vocalist does sing some songs in Basque like the traditional lullaby Loa Loa (see here) or the a capela version of the San Sebastian March (see here), that has circulated greatly on social media.
From Argentina, the group will travel to Mexico where it will perform in Morelia, Torreon, Puebla and Queretaro.
