Bilbao, Bizkaia. Korrika has already begun to heat up preparing for this 18 edition of the popular race in support of teaching Basque to adults. The coordinator of the AEK Euskaltegis has unveiled this year’s route in Bilbao this morning that will run from Andoain to Baiona.
The race usually has a large response from Basques in the Diaspora as well and each year more Basque club organize parallel events in their communities. In places like Barcelona, Madrid, London and Necochea, Korrika has become a regular event, and last edition Berlin and Sydney also joined in thanks to local Basque communities there.
AEK has contacted EuskalKultura.com to once again invite Basques in the Diaspora to participate in Korrika, despite being outside of the Basque Country. Anyone wishing to organize an event in his/her Basque club can contact AEK, writing to this email: here to receive t-shirts, posters and publicity materials.
