New York, NY. Kirmen Uribe, Basque writer will travel to the US this week to participate in a series of literary events in New York City, coordinated by the Etxepare Basque Institute, the Delegation of Euskadi in the US, CUNY, and the Brooklyn Book Festival. The author will once again have the opportunity to introduce the US public to his work which has been translated and published in English on various occasions.
Uribe will be the focus at the literary event at CUNY on Friday September 20, where he will talk with Esther Allen, translator and professor at Baruch College, and Guz Jimenez Ph.D. candidate, in an open dialogue for university students as well as the general public.
On Sunday, September 22, Uribe will attend the Brooklyn Book Festival where he will do a reading and participate in a roundtable entitled, “Cities and their Ghosts,” with writers Patricio Pron and Chang-Rae Lee.
Uribe’s trip to NY will conclude on Monday, September 23, with his participation in a joint reading at the Poet in New York event held at the Bowery Poetry Club.
