Mallorca, Spain. The Euskal Etxea in Mallorca welcomed a visit from the coordinator of the Euskara Munduan Program, at the Etxepare Basque Institute, Kinku Zinkunegi, who met with club president, Nicolas Ibarra, and the new Basque teacher, Julen Adrian Gorostiza. The latter just took over for Xabier Egurrola who had to stop teaching, for the time being, due to work commitments.
The Basque club in Mallora would like to take advantage of this opportunity to thank Xabi Egurrola for the valuable work that he has done, while welcoming Julen Adrian Gorostiza, who has a long teaching career, to his new post,
At the meeting with Zinkunegi, the agreement between the Etxepare Basque Institute and the Basque Club to teach Basque classes was renewed and the effects of the pandemic in the classes and the progress of the Basque club in general were reviewed. They also confirmed that in relation to classes there had been a notable number of casualties once the course started. It should be noted that the club maintains, to the extent that the measures in force allow, its activities and that it approaches the future with optimism.
The Basque club also wants to highlight the signing of an agreement with a local fronton to be able to use its various facilities. It also continues with the agreement with the Obra Cultural Balear, for the use of its classrooms that welcome the Club’s Basque classes as well as other cultural events.
